Program Overview
WMD operates the Food & Basic Human Needs Program to ensure that no individual or family goes hungry and that basic survival needs are met with dignity and care. This program covers ration distribution, cooked food drives, iftar and dinner distributions, emergency food support, and community-based identification of families facing hunger due to poverty, unemployment, illness, disasters, or crisis situations.
Who We Serve (Priority Beneficiaries)
- Widows and female-headed households
- Orphaned children and families caring for orphans
- Persons with disabilities and their dependent families
- Daily wage earners and individuals facing food insecurity
- Elderly without family support
Community Outreach & Identification
Support begins with community-based identification:
- Social volunteers spread awareness in targeted areas
- Community members help identify families and individuals in need
- Referrals are accepted from donors, volunteers, and trusted locals
- All cases are handled with complete confidentiality to protect dignity
Verification & Assessment
WMD’s verification team personally visits each case to assess:
- Family size and number of dependents
- Source of income (if any)
- Living conditions and housing
- Health conditions and special needs
- Duration of food insecurity
Our Commitment
We don’t abandon families after one distribution. Each family receives continuous support until they achieve stable income. We also connect families with employment and skill development opportunities.
