Warmth and Dignity — Winter Drive Reaches Remote Communities
They didn't just give us old clothes. Everything was washed, ironed, and packed neatly. My children wore them with pride. WMD gave us warmth and dignity.
— Community Families
Every year from October to December, WMD runs its Winter Drive — collecting, restoring, and distributing warm clothing to vulnerable communities facing harsh winter conditions.
The Process
Collection points were set up at 22 No. Chungi Road (Rawalpindi), Tiipu Market G8/2 (Islamabad), Gulberg Greens (Islamabad), NUMS PWD Campus (Rawalpindi), Soan Gardens (Islamabad), and Insaaf Medical Store, PMA Link Road (Abbottabad). Gently used and new warm clothes were collected along with cash donations for purchasing additional items.
Quality with Dignity
What makes WMD’s Winter Drive different is the quality control process. All collected clothes are sorted, repaired where possible, washed, dried, ironed, and sanitized. Unhygienic items are discarded. Clothes are then neatly packed and categorized by age and need. This ensures that recipients receive clean, dignified clothing — not hand-me-downs that feel like charity.
Distribution
WMD volunteers personally distribute the clothing to rural communities and families in need, ensuring fair and respectful distribution. The drive reflects WMD’s core value: dignity must be preserved in every act of giving.
You Can Make This Happen Again
Every rupee you donate creates another story of hope. This story was made possible because someone like you chose to act.
