About Winter Drive

WMD’s annual Winter Drive (October-December) is a massive community effort to collect, restore, and distribute warm clothing and blankets to vulnerable families before the harsh winter months. From collection to distribution, every step is powered by dedicated volunteers.

The Process

• Collection (October-November) — Collection points are set up at universities, offices, mosques, and community centers across multiple cities. Community members donate gently used and new warm clothing
• Restoration — All collected clothing goes through a thorough process of washing, repair, ironing, and sanitization to ensure recipients receive clean, dignified garments
• Sorting & Packaging — Clothing is sorted by size, type, and gender, then packed into family bundles
• Distribution (December) — Organized distribution events in rural and underserved communities, plus door-to-door delivery to verified families

What We Distribute

• Warm jackets, sweaters, and hoodies
• Shawls, scarves, and warm caps
• Blankets and quilts
• Socks, gloves, and thermal wear
• Children’s winter clothing
• New clothing items purchased from donations

• Homeless families living on streets and pavements
• Street children exposed to cold weather
• Rural communities in northern areas with extreme winters
• Widows and elderly living without adequate shelter
• Flood-displaced families in temporary shelters
